The short version: your salary figures are never sent to us. We do use Google Analytics on this website, and the iOS app will show ads. The detail is below.
This website and the Salary Calculator App for iOS are operated by Alamex Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 06332689), 11 Laura Place, Bath, BA2 4BL, United Kingdom. For anything in this policy, contact us at privacy@alamex.com.
The calculator on this website runs entirely in your browser. The calculator in the app runs entirely on your phone. The salary, pension, student loan and tax code details you enter are never transmitted to us, never stored on our servers, and never shared with anyone. We could not tell you what any individual has typed into the calculator, because we do not receive it.
We do not operate user accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to create.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages they use and roughly where in the world they are. This sets cookies in your browser and processes your IP address. We use it to decide what to build next, not to identify you.

Google acts as our processor for this. Google may transfer data outside the UK; it relies on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum for that. You can opt out of Google Analytics in any browser using Google's opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Your IP address is visible to Google when that request is made. No cookies are set by it.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes request data, including IP addresses, to serve pages and protect against attacks. This is necessary for the site to function at all.
This site sets two kinds of cookie: the Google Analytics ones described above, and advertising cookies set by Google AdSense, which pays for the site. We do not use social media embeds or third-party tracking pixels beyond those two.
This site carries ads supplied by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies to select ads and measure them. If you are in the UK or the EEA you will be asked for your consent before any personalised advertising cookies are used, through Google's consent message. You can change your answer at any time from the privacy options link in that message.
If you refuse consent you will still see ads, but non-personalised ones, chosen from the page you are on rather than from anything about you. The calculator works exactly the same either way.
The app is live on the App Store as Salary Calculator UK 2026/27.
The free version of the app will show ads supplied by Google AdMob. AdMob may use a device identifier to select ads and measure them. On first launch, iOS will ask whether you allow tracking across apps and websites. If you decline, we request non-personalised ads only. Declining does not reduce what the calculator can do.
The paid tier removes ads and adds features. Purchases are handled by Apple and processed through RevenueCat, which tells us whether a device holds an active subscription. We never see your card details, and Apple does not give us your name or email.
If you opt in to sharing analytics with app developers in your iOS settings, Apple sends us aggregated, anonymous crash and usage reports. This is controlled entirely by Apple, in Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.
Under UK GDPR we rely on legitimate interests for hosting and security logs, since the site cannot be served without them.
For advertising cookies we rely on your consent, gathered through Google's consent message before any personalised ad cookie is set, and you can withdraw it at any time from the privacy options link in that message.
Being straight with you about analytics: the Google Analytics cookies described above are set when you arrive. If you would rather not be measured, you can block cookies in your browser or use Google's opt-out add-on, both covered above, and the calculator will work exactly the same either way.
In the app, personalised advertising is gated by Apple's tracking permission prompt. Nothing personalised happens unless you allow it there.
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to complain to a regulator. In practice we hold very little that could identify you, so a request will usually be answered by telling you exactly that.
Email privacy@alamex.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
This is a tool for working adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
If we change how we handle data we will update this page and change the date at the top. The app going live will be one such change.
